PHILADELPHIA PARKS & RECREATION EXTENDS THE PHILLY DRIVE-IN MOVIE SERIES THROUGH HALLOWEEN

Presented by T-Mobile, The Philly Drive-In series will offer free seasonal film favorites through Oct. 30 outside of the Mann Center for the Performing Arts

PHILADELPHIA (Sept. 24, 2020) – Philadelphia Parks & Recreation today announced that The Philly Drive-In, presented by T-Mobile, will extend its run through Halloween to meet high demand. The free drive-in movie series takes place in the parking lot in front of the Mann Center for the Performing Arts in West Fairmount Park and launched this year to offer residents a fun, socially-distant park activity.

The Philly Drive-in is presented by T-Mobile with support from the Mann Center for the Performing Arts, Live Nation Urban, Live Nation Philadelphia and Welcome America. The popular series will now run through Friday, Oct. 30, screening a variety of classic Halloween films every Wednesday and Friday evening in October. Keeping with the Halloween theme, T-Mobile will provide free gummy candies for all movie-goers attending an October screening.

“The Philly Drive-in is proving to be wildly popular with Philadelphia families,” said Kathryn Ott Lovell, Philadelphia Parks & Recreation Commissioner. “We are so excited to partner with T-Mobile to extend the series so more folks can enjoy a free night out this fall. In the face of COVID-19, Parks & Rec staff and partners have gotten creative to find new ways to serve families and provide safe activities for Philadelphians. The Philly Drive-In’s extension through Oct. 30 is a safe, fun, family-friendly way to enjoy a free movie under the stars in our park.”

Originally scheduled as a 6-week series ending on Sept. 25, The Philly Drive-In will extend an additional four weeks, offering Wednesday and Friday screenings through Halloween weekend, with double features every Friday night.
