Since the Eagles won the Super Bowl way back on February 4th, we’ve watched the NFL Films footage of that Nick Foles Philly Special touchdown and other exciting plays from the game countless times, all underscored by that dramatic orchestral music that so perfectly captures the feeling of those moments.

Well, now we’re going to be able to watch it all live in concert.

In what may be the most genius marriage of sports and classical music that’s possible, NFL Films, the Eagles, and the Philadelphia Orchestra have teamed up for “A Championship Season” on July 24th at the Mann Center.

NFL Films footage from the season will be shown on three large movie screens while the Philadelphia Orchestra plays the symphonic score live.

And the whole thing will be hosted by longtime Eagles announcer Merrill Reese, with appearances by the Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleaders, of course.

Tickets start at $25, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Eagles Autism Challenge as well as the Mann Center’s free educational programming.

The Mann Center is working with Philly non-profit Art-Reach to make the concert sensory-friendly for individuals on the autism spectrum. There will be noise canceling headsets, fidget toys, and other accommodations, including a designated quiet area on property. And volunteers from Temple’s Occupational Therapy Program will be on hand for guests requiring assistance.

The night is part of the Mann Center’s series of screenings with live orchestral accompaniment. Other screenings in the series that we’re excited about this season: Jaws on June 2nd and Star Wars on July 20th.

But none of that could possibly top the Philly Special — with timpani, trumpets and a full blown string section. We’ll see you there.
