Dave Matthews announces acoustic Mann Center dates with DMB guitarist Tim Reynolds
Dave Matthews Band isn’t touring this summer due to a 2017 hiatus, but Philadelphia will get a little bit of Dave, anyway.
Dave Matthews on Tuesday announced a couple of dates at the Mann Center for the Performing Arts as part of a 2017 U.S. tour with lead Dave Matthews Band guitarist Tim Reynolds. The tour kicks off May 3 in Tuscaloosa, Ala., before winding its way to the Mann Center for two stripped-down, acoustic shows on June 2 and 3.
Tickets for the performances go on sale at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, via the Dave Matthews Band fan site for members of the DMB Warehouse Fan Association, or Friday, Feb. 10, via Ticketmaster, AEGLive, or the Mann Center site for the general public. Philadelphia is one of just four cities with two nights of performances from Matthews and Reynolds.
In addition to their work together in Dave Matthews Band, Matthews and Reynolds have released several live double-albums as a team, including Live at Luther College in 1999, and Live at Radio City in 2007. Reynolds also fronts TR3, and released a solo acoustic album, That Way, earlier this month.
Dave Matthews last released a studio album, Dave Matthews Band’s Away from the World, in 2012. The band last played the Philly area on their 25th anniversary tour with a stop at Camden's BB&T Pavilion in June.
