The Mann Center for the Performing Arts cordially invites you to celebrate Black History Month by shining a focus on the children of Philadelphia and having student performances as a highlight of the evening's event. The celebration will feature the Gesu School gospel choir, Sister Cities Girlchoir and CAPA's choir performing along with CAPA's jazz band and dancers. The evening will also feature students and teaching-artists from the Mann Center’s Art of Songwriting project as they premiere selections from their original compositions. For the first time, the Mann will make this event free and open to the public to register.
As a part of the event, the Mann Center is honoring four iconic educators throughout Philadelphia whose work and determination have greatly impacted the lives of our city's students.
