Concert Perspectives

RIMSKY-KORSAKOV: Russian Easter Overture

RACHMANINOFF: Rhapsody on a theme by Paganini

STRAVINSKY: The Rite of Spring (100th anniversary of the premiere of this masterpiece)

Three Russian titans, Rachmaninoff, Stravinsky, and Rimsky-Korsakov have created some of the most popular orchestral music of all time. We celebrate the brilliance of master orchestral wizard Rimsky-Korsakov’s iconic Russian Easter Overture, the lush nostalgic romanticism of Rachmaninoff in his Paganini Rhapsody and the savage power of Stravinsky in his earth-shattering Rite of Spring, celebrating the 100th anniversary of its premiere this year. The dynamic young Ukrainian conductor Kirill Karabits makes his Mann Center debut in this concert.

Please join us early for 'Date Night' featuring complimentary flowers from Riehs Flowers and wine tastings from Blue Mountain Vineyards for our patrons over 21. Enjoy a Suzuki Violin Play-In featuring over 100 community musicians joined by the violin sections of The Philadelphia Orchestra, taking place at 6:00PM on the main stage.
