Philadelphia sports take center stage at the Mann this summer when the Phillies, Eagles, Sixers, Flyers, and Union join forces with the Fabulous Philadelphians for the world premiere of Symphonic Sports-tacular. Hosted by the "Voice of the Eagles," Merrill Reese, the concert showcases Philly's best sports moments on giant video screens set to classical music's greatest hits. Look for special sports guests and the hilarious broadcast of Beethoven's 5th by PDQ Bach's Peter Schickele.
This interactive spectacular also allows audience members to contribute photos that may be incorporated into the show! Email pictures of your little leaguers, company soccer team, intermural flag football game, early morning crew practice, marathon finish, or any other Philadelphia area sports to be included on the screen during the concert to Sportstacular@icloud.com. Teams are also encouraged to wear their uniforms to the concert and snap shots on their camera phones while at the Mann.
Come Early and Bring the Kids for the SPORTS-A-RAMA pre-concert activities from 6:00-7:45PM. Meet representatives from the Phillies, Sixers, Union, Flyers and Eagles during Sports-A-Rama. Ham it up with the Phillie Phanatic and Eagles’ Swoop. Practice throwing footballs and kicking soccer balls into huge inflatable displays. Be on the look out for giveaways from the Flyers Fun Patrol. Watch the Sixers’ Flight Squad perform amazing feats of acrobatics, then grab a Dollar Dog, settle in for the concert hosted by Merrill Reese, and stay for the after-show fireworks. Fun for the whole family!
