This venerable group will be celebrating 100 years since their first appearance in Philadelphia.  One of the largest choirs in the world, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir has performed for U.S. presidents, sold millions of records and has an interesting historical connection to Philadelphia.  The Choir performed with Eugene Ormandy and The Philadelphia Orchestra during concerts here in 1958.  The recording from those concerts received a gold record in 1964.  The Choir's performance of "The Battle Hymn of the Republic", also recorded with Eugene Ormandy and The Philadelphia Orchestra, received another gold record in 1959.
