BARBER Second Essay for Orchestra
BEETHOVEN Piano Concerto No. 4
RACHMANINOFF Symphonic Dances

Giancarlo Guererro, conductor
André Watts, piano

The most respected and honored pianist before the American public today, André Watts made his Philadelphia debut in 1957 at age eleven! He thrilled audiences both downtown and in the summer and went on to a celebrated world-wide career. He returns to play again with our great Philadelphia Orchestra Beethoven’s most romantic piano concerto, No. 4 in G. And speaking of Romantic, the evening also holds the Symphonic Dances by Sergei Rachmaninoff, written for and dedicated to our great orchestra.
