2015 Tiny Tots Fascination Series: “Milk n’ Cookies” with Kala Jojo African Storyteller

On July 23 in our Field Education Center Kala Jojo performed an amazing array of traditional African storytelling for children aged 2-7. Kala skillfully wove sensitive, interactive and thought provoking compositions with songs and ditty’s born of African heritage into stories of cultural diversity, healing, conflict resolve, and side splitting humor that resonated with the tiny tots! He delighted them with stories about Anansi the Spider and The Lion’s Whisker among others. A total of 80 children from local West Philadelphia daycare centers and summer programs attended both of the one hour storytelling experiences. Each child also received milk and cookies as a take-away treat after enjoying the stories and interactive song and dances!
